Looking for New Members!
COOKIE BISCUITS IS CURRENTLY ON THE HUNT
FOR NEW MEMBERS!

Do you want to work with us?
Cookie Biscuits is looking to add more voices to our team. We are currently looking for people to join us in two different ways: people interested in becoming a group member, and people who would be non-members but may be interested in being a part of the cast or crew when opportunities arise.

Who are we and what do we do?
Cookie Biscuits is a Toronto-based comedy group that has been producing sketch comedy since 2016. Though we have occasionally done live performances, we primarily produce video sketches that we publish on our YouTube channel. Please find our past 3 seasons here; https://www.youtube.com/c/CookieBiscuitsComedy/featured.
In the past several years we have been featured on the front page of Funny or Die, had sketches featured in the TO Sketch Comedy Film Festival and the Great Canadian Sketch Comedy Film Festival, were awarded Audience Choice in the 2019 Toronto 48 Hour Film Festival, and represented Canada in the 2020 48 Hour Global Film Project.
For our upcoming 4th season, our next big project is writing and producing an episodic web series. We are about to start the development phase on this new project.

Ideally, group members would be interested in multiple avenues of production even if you don’t have experience in more than one.

What would it mean to be in the group?
Being a group member would mean that you are part of our production team! You will have a producing credit on what we create and an equal say at our production table.
As a member, we each pay a small monthly fee to cover production costs, festival application fees, etc.
We try to do as much as we can in-house, and as such, group members have first choice of roles before we outsource to non-members. (For example, a director in the group would have first choice of which episodes they want to direct before we bring in guest directors).
Being a group member is an excellent opportunity to develop new skills while continuing to hone and showcase your current skill set. For example, are you primarily interested in writing, but have always wanted to try directing? Are you an experienced editor who is curious about being on-camera? Being a member of Cookie Biscuits can provide an opportunity to step out of your comfort zone to develop new skills in a safe space.
While group members do not need to be on camera, we have often used non-acting members in our sketches. But of course, we will never force a group member to do something they are not interested in.
Pre Covid-19, we had weekly production meetings in person. Throughout quarantine, we have been having weekly Zoom meetings instead, which we will continue to do until it is safe to meet in person again. It is very important that new members are able to commit to meeting on a weekly basis. While we understand that life happens and members may need to miss the occasional meeting, we have found that if this happens too often it can create an environment in which it is difficult to get things done. Thus, members are expected to be at meetings the majority of the time.
